Public-interest charity discovery

Find and verify a Canadian charity.

Start with the Canada Revenue Agency’s current registry, then use annual public filings to understand an organization’s programs and finances. A listing here is never an endorsement.

A safer way to give

Three checks before donating.

  1. Find the organization

Search by legal name, operating name, location, or registration number in the CRA registry.

  2. Confirm current status

Read the registry record and confirm its current status before relying on annual filing data.

  3. Verify the donation channel

Go to the organization’s official website independently and confirm that the donation address belongs to it.

This is an official-search gateway, not a locally copied directory yet. That keeps current registration checks with the CRA while Canada in Data builds a fast, reproducible search index from the public files.

Open data for researchers

Inspect the public T3010 files.

Download the public files behind the annual charity dataset. These files reflect information reported by organizations and are research data—not a live registration check.
